We call this feature a "Wallpaper".
Setting up a "Wallpaper" is free, but you'll need to receive texts or calls from 3 different numbers to unlock this feature. Once it's unlocked, you'll be able to create a Wallpaper using a picture from your Photos, or taking a picture with your camera. Set up a different background for each of your contacts, and/or a default Wallpaper for all contacts (scroll down for instructions).

To set a default background for all conversations:
1: Open the Textfree app and tap the "gears" icon to view the Options menu.

2. In the Options menu, scroll down to and tap on "Wallpaper & Themes"

3. Tap on "Use Wallpaper".

Note: Once the "Wallpaper" feature is unlocked, you'll see a tiny "open lock" icon on the "Use Wallpaper" button. If the "lock" is closed (shown below), you need to receive a text or call from 3 different friends to unlock the Wallpaper feature.

To set a background for specific contacts:
1. Open a conversation and tap the "Musical Note" icon

2. Then, tap on"Wallpaper & Themes"
