First of all, i'd just like to say thank God for Pinger. When I first got my iPod fourth generation, I knew I would want to use it as a phone. I looked online and finally decided Textfree with voice was my only option. I downloaded it and have been happy with it for a long time. I lived through the crashing, and when you fixed it I was overjoyed. For the voicemail update I was so happy..until I realized we couldn't make a custom message. But I waited, knowing the folks at Pinger would come through. Then, this morning, I happened upon the newly updated Pinger app, which has apparently become the new default app for us textfree users. I had seen you guys had put out a pinger app before, but I wasn't sure why, since you could only text people who also had Pinger. Today I saw that has changed. I LOVE the decision to change the name from the  name that makes you sound like a loser for having it "Textfree" to a nicer more sophisticated name "pinger". But I HATE that I wasn't notified about the new pinger app! I had to go to the app store, and it was only by chance I found out that it's the new textfree. So please email us or something when something like that happens. :) Now, I saw some user reviews for Pinger claiming they don't like the new app because of the supposed less customization options. You can't set customized wallpaper for each contact, no, but WHO CARES ABOUT THAT WHEN THIS NEW APP GIVES CUSTOM VM AND MUCH FASTER TEXTING!! :D so I love it and will change from textfree+vm to Pinger. Although I do have one complaint. It would be nice to be able to pay to disable ads on this new app.  Alright, now that that little story is over, here's what I would like to see, in the order I'd like to see it happen ^_^ 1. No more picture from email. I know that you Guys can't control this since the phone companies won't let you send pics from our pinger #s, but still, isn't there something you can do? It is SO much trouble and so embarrassing to have to tell your friends to send pics to an email.  2. Support for shortcodes. This isn't vital, but would be nice to have. It would seem like a pretty easy thing to make happen, right? Well, that's all I can think of at the moment...only two changes...you guys must be doing awesome!! Haha.  So thanks, and I hope you liked reading this. :)  -Caleb

Thank you Pinger... I love the new App. I honestly feel like I do when the new iOS comes out. I do have some suggestions on some improvements that could make this app be that much better. I like the Address book integration, however, it would be better if I were able to isolate my pinger contacts from my other contacts. maybe like a separate contacts list. Also more access to my pinger web contacts would be great. If I log onto Textfree Web, I can actually store these contacts and pull them up again. However when in the app, if someone text me who is not in my contacts, it just shows as a number.. All of these things aren't going to sway me from using the service though. I love it, and have been a loyal user since its inception. I've paid for minutes, and if you ask some people, they have no idea that I have a non pinger number associated with my phone... I love this service.

The app is great, just I think that u have to Integret some of the characteristic of the old app like, the one u can put a wallpaper for each of your contact.... An also I and a user the make use of the app to talk and text to the exterior of the country,( to by more expecific to EL SALVADOR, ) and I like to know if u gonna make something about the way to send pict to other country Bcause with the old app tha can't be possible..!!

We haven't done an announcement yet because we were counting on epic fans like you to download the app first. We knew you guys would let us know if anything was amiss in our new app. We'll be making an announcement as soon as we get a little more feedback and make sure that we don't have any major "Boo boos".

Also, we'll be adding an option to removes ads soon! No plans for short code integration (yet!).

USA, iOS 5.1.1. I just moved over to Pinger from Textfree and it has been a huge improvement. I am now getting notifications and the app is overall much more reliable. There are a couple of things I'd like to see in the future. I don't like the contact tiles at all. A list would be much more convenient. You can fit much more contacts into a single viewing space versus just a few tiles and it's easier to tap a specific contact in a list than it is to tap a particular tile. Also, a way to resume a task in the settings. I can't count how many times I've started to change something in my settings or begun a request for help and then I set my phone down for a minute and when I go back and unlock it to complete what I was doing... It's all back at my inbox and I have to go all the way back into my settings and begin a new request from the beginning. Very frustrating. Otherwise, for the best price of free, this is a great app :)
