To create an account or use the Pinger app, we require email verification through Two Factor Authentication (2FA) to ensure account security and prevent unauthorized access. This is a standard industry practice.
Verifying your account via email
New Accounts
Verifying your email via a 6-digit code is a required step in the registration process. You must complete the verification step to create an account.
Unverified accounts
If your account's email needs to be verified, you'll see your email in red text with "You haven't verified your email" under your account info.
To verify your email:
- Log in to Pinger mobile (if not currently logged in).
- Note: You may be prompted to verify immediately after login. If so, skip to step 5.
- Tap Settings, then view Account info.
- Tap the edit button to edit the email OR to proceed with verification if your email is correct.
- Tap the "Verify" button.
- View your email inbox and open the message from Pinger. It will contain a verification code.
- Return back to the app and enter the 6-digit verification code, then tap Continue.
- A purple checkmark next to your email indicates that your email/account is now verified.
Note: If you are using a Yahoo email address, please be aware that the verification email may be delayed. Please check your inbox periodically, as the link may take some time to arrive.
Accounts with NO email
If you need to add an email to your account for verification:
Follow the same steps above, but in step 3, enter a valid email you have access to so you can receive the code and get verified.
