Not receiving calls

This article is to help with troubleshooting calling issues for Android or iOS users within the Pinger app. If you need further assistance on troubleshooting calling issues for your device (not related to Pinger), please visit Android Support or Apple Support.

Issue Symptoms

Inbound or outbound calls with the Pinger app are not going through, are going straight to voicemail, or are disconnecting after a few seconds.

Conditions

Your application is up to date (currently using the newest app store version) and your account is active.

Cause & Resolution 

We have a few troubleshooting steps that may help to resolve your calling issue.

Log Out and back into your Account

1. Pinger Settings (tap the gear icon in the top right).
2. Tap Account Settings.
3. Tap Log out.
4. Close the App.
5. Re-open the app and Log In.

Reinstall the Application

1. Delete the application.
2. Restart your device (Most important step).
3. Reinstall from your app store.

Enable Contact Permissions

1. Go to your app Settings.
2. Under General choose Support (iOS) or Get Help (Android).
3. Tap Manage Permissions.
4. Tap the slide to enable permission.

Clear Cache (Android Only)

1. Open your General device Settings.
2. Navigate down to Apps (it may be renamed 'Applications or 'Application Manager' or Apps & Notifications)
3. Locate the Pinger app > click to open.
4. Tap Storage.
5. Tap Clear Cache.
