How to create an account on TextFree Web

FYI: We only support service to US and Canadian residents while they are within the United States and Canada at this time. If you reside outside of the US or Canada, you cannot create an account. We apologize for any inconvenience.

It's easy to set up an account on TextFree Web. Please view the steps below which outlines how you can create an account via the Web.

Important: If you wish to use the Facebook or Google single option to create an account, you will not have a password associated with your account nor can you create one and will be limited to using the Web version of TextFree only (cannot access the TextFree app). 

Initial Step: Select your preferred sign-up method:

1. Visit TextFree Web
2. Select the   option at the top right corner of the screen
3. On the Sign-Up screen, select your preferred sign up option:
   1. Sign up with Facebook, Google, or Apple - this option will use your Facebook, Google, or Apple login info to create an account & log in to TextFree Web. 
   2. Create an account using your email - this option will use your email address to create an account. 

Option 1: Sign up using Facebook, Google, or Apple (Single Sign-On)

Option 2: Sign up using your email address

1. Input your desired username & enter a strong password.
   • Passwords must meet the following requirements and contain:
     • At least 8 characters.
     • At least 1 upper case letter.
     • At least 1 special character. (such as !?*&%@)
     • At least 1 number.
2. Confirm your password by entering it again.
3. Enter the email you want to register with (ensure you have access to this email)
4. Enter the Captcha info. 
5. Click the Sign Up button.
6. Enter your desired area code to view a list of phone numbers available in your area.
7. You will then be presented with a list of numbers you can choose from.
8. Click a number to select it from the list, then click Select Number.
9. Enter your mobile or landline number. (This step helps to verify your account).
10. Click Submit.
11. We will then send a verification call to the number you entered. Answer the call, and press 1 to verify. 
12. You will then see your TextFree Web inbox if you have verified successfully.

The video below shows steps 1-4, but be sure to continue through steps 5-10 by choosing a TextFree number and verifying your account (or else you won't be able to use TextFree).  

Note about passwords:

• Passwords cannot contain spaces. You'll see an "Invalid Password" error message if they do. 
• You must create a password that is not considered "common" or is easily guessed. If your password does not meet ALL of the requirements stated above, you will receive an error message and won't be able to update your password until each requirement is met.
