How do I delete my account?

Deleting your account is a permanent action. Please note the following items prior to making the decision to delete your account: 

• You will be unable to reactivate your account.
• You will lose your Pinger number.
• You will lose all data such as messages, voicemail, and media. It will be deleted from your account without the ability to recover them.

Important: Deleting your account is an optional, but permanent action. After deletion, you will be unable to reactivate your account, will lose your Pinger number, and all data such as messages, voicemail, and media will be deleted without the ability to recover them.

Single Sign-On Accounts: If you use Apple or Google to sign into TextFree, please disregard the steps below. To delete your account, please follow this link and log into your account to begin the deletion process. 

To PERMANENTLY DELETE your iOS account:

1. Pinger Settings. 
2. Under Account, tap Manage Account.
3. Select Delete Account. 
4. Tap Continue.
5. Select the reason for why you're leaving, then select the Continue to Delete Account button. 
6. After that, you'll be presented with info on what happens to your account after you delete it. Please read this info carefully and proceed when ready.
   • You can always log out if you need to silence calls and notifications. 
7. When you are ready to delete your account, select the red Permanently Delete Account button.
8. On the pop-up, confirm your selection by tapping Confirm Delete (or cancel if you wish to keep your Pinger account and its data.)
9. You'll then receive a confirmation that your account is deleted.
   • If you currently subscribe to Pinger/Pinger Plus, continue below for next steps.
   • If you don't pay for Pinger at this time, no further action is required as you have successfully deleted your account. 

Pinger Accounts with an ACTIVE Subscription 

If you have a paid subscription to Pinger or subscribe to Pinger Plus, you will need to cancel your subscription to avoid being charged at your renewal date. 

Items to note:

• If you have special subscription pricing and you cancel your subscription, we will be unable to honor it or get it back if you create a new account in the future. 
• Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or call and message history.
• Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. (Steps to cancel subscription.)

To PERMANENTLY DELETE your Web Account:

To delete your TextFree Web account, you will have to visit this link, then proceed to log in with your credentials. From there, you can request to delete your personal information. 

Important: Deleting your account is an optional, but permanent action. After you submit the request to delete your account per this link, you will be unable to reactivate your account, will lose your TextFree number, and all TextFree data such as messages, voicemail, and media will be deleted without the ability to recover them.

Please note: If you have a subscription to Pinger/Pinger Plus and use TextFree Web, your subscription will not be canceled when you request to delete your account. To avoid future charges, please cancel your current subscription.
